Melanie Gettelfinger
Hello! My name is Melanie Gettelfinger. I have been teaching at North Clinton Elementary School for many years. NCES is like home to me and I hope the children in my class feel the same way. The experience my students have in kindergarten is very important to me. I hope the entire year is a smooth transition for them into elementary school.
I believe learning is an ongoing lifelong experience both formally and informally. My formal post high school education began at Hiwassee College where I received an Associate Degree in 1987. I graduated from the University of TN, Knoxville in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Then, I completed a year internship at Alcoa Elementary School. I received my Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of TN, Knoxville in 1994. In May 2001, I earned my Education Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership at Tennessee Technological University.
I was born in Knoxville, TN and have lived most of my life in East Tennessee. My husband and I have been married over a decade now and we are very blessed. We enjoy working hard, relaxing, traveling as much as possible and mainly spending time with our family and friends.
