Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Our school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students should not be brought to school before 7:15 a.m. Teachers do not begin early duty until this time. Please help us keep our students safe by not leaving him/her on school grounds before 7:15 a.m.  Our Pre-K students can be dropped off starting at 7:30 a.m.  If a student arrives after the 7:45 bell rings he/she must go by the front desk for a tardy slip. Do not drop your child off at the cafeteria entrance if it is after 7:45a.m.  These doors are locked promptly at this time, and your child will not be able to gain entrance into the building. It is very important that students are in their classrooms on time. When your child is tardy for school, he/she is losing the opportunity for a full breakfast and is behind with the instruction being presented for the day.  It is difficult for them to get caught up with the routine of the day.  Teachers cannot stop instruction to help children who are tardy for class.  Please help ensure your child is here on time each and every day.   As you enter the main gates, please follow the traffic pattern to the side doors of the cafeteria. All K-6 car riders should be dropped off here and enter through cafeteria doors. If your child walks to school, he/she should enter through the front doors of the school by the office and report to the cafeteria. Students in Pre-K will be dropped off at the lower end of the building beside the gym. (Look for the Pre-K sign.)  NCES offers free breakfast to all students. If your child would like to eat, please have them here by 7:30 a.m. in order for them to have time to eat.  All students will be dismissed to their classrooms at 7:30 a.m.

School is dismissed at 2:45 p.m. for grades K-6 and 1:30 p.m. for Pre-K. All K-6 car riders will be dismissed from the gym at the rear of the school. Pre-K will be dismissed at the same location as their arrival location. Walkers will be released at 2:45 p.m. and must exit through the front doors by the office. Everyone should be picked up from school no later than 3:00 p.m. During the first week of school, each student will be given two cards with their nameson them. Please give a card to the person picking up your child to be placed in the window during pickup to help make this process go smoothly. Also, please make sure that this individual is listed on your child's data form. All individuals in cars without these cards will be asked to go into the office to verify identification and to sign out the student. We will be more than happy to make multiple cards for you if more than two are needed. Please help us keep everyone safe by cooperating with this policy. Please know that it is critical that our children have a routine with dismissal.  Please try to keep consistent with dismissal routines.  Parents coming to the office after 2:30 p.m. will need to understand there will be a waiting period until all children are in designated areas before releasing children.  It will be more efficient and safe to avoid the office during this time to avoid having to wait on your child.
