Janice Ramsey Staff Photo


  • Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee (summa cum laude)
  • Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Tennessee (summa cum laude)


Mrs. Ramsey began her career as a speech-language pathologist in the Anderson County School System in 1985.  She served as coordinator for Speech/Language Services and as an Inclusion Facilitator before joining the staff of Clinton City Schools in 1996.  In 2006, Mrs. Ramsey began teaching a multi-age comprehensive development class at North Clinton Elementary.

In addition to her position with Clinton City Schools, Mrs. Ramsey serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Tennessee.  She also has taught English as a Second Language in China and Indonesia during the summer months.


Mrs. Ramsey has two children, Lauren and Chase, and a granddaughter named Charleston.  Lauren and her husband live in Knoxville.  She is a family counselor  Chase is one of the band directors at Central High School in Knoxville.

When she is not teaching, Mrs. Ramsey loves to read, watch movies, travel, and hike and kayak with her husband Chuck.  She is very involved in her church, singing in the choir and serving as the director of ESL ministries.
